Getting accepted by CPA networks is something I see a lot of people new to the affiliate marketing industry struggling with. It doesn’t have to be that way though. It’s actually quite easy if you know what to say. Think of it as a job interview, a job interviewer is looking for certain things in you right? He wants to make sure you’re right for the job. Now I know some people freak out and get all nervous and don’t know what to say during a job interview… But is actually quite simple. Just tell them what they want to hear!
If you’re a marketer (or an aspiring marketer) you should know that. Because if you can tell people what they want to hear your success is virtually guaranteed. So what do they want to hear you might ask… Basically, what the CPA networks want to hear comes down to these two things:
A) That you understand the industry
B) That you’re serious about business
In most cases you can get approved by making them understand that you understand the industry. If you don’t have a website though you will probably have to put in some more effort. Make sure that both point A and B are taken care of in your application, point B is basically selling yourself so do a good job at that.
It’s ok to tell them that you’re just starting out, everyone has to start somewhere. Just make sure that they understand that you’re serious about business, and that you know what you’re doing. If you can manage to get those points across you will almost always get approved.
And last but not least, call them. If you really want to be approved by a particular network, just pick up the phone and call them. Apart from speeding up your approval process it also helps you to get approved in the first place. Point A and B still apply of course so make sure you know what you’re talking about before you call them.
If you have any questions or comments about getting approved feel free to leave a message…
It depends on the network, some do, some don’t.
In 90% of the cases I’ve been approved via email but I live in Europe so that might be a factor.
Very Interesting. I agree with every point. I applied for Azzogle Back in September and I was rejected. I didn’t even know they were gonna call me.
Now I have my own Blog PPC5000.com and I am working on getting traffic into it. I believe if you have a blog with high traffic & that talks well about the CPA affiliates and you sound good on the phone they will accept you.
Having your own blog can give you an advantage especially if you have good traffic because CPA affiliates will understand that you can convert that traffic to their offers as well.
Great article. readers may be interested in my experience as an affiliate marketer.
When I applied I used one of my high quality sites as an example when filling in the application. My background is pure affiliate marketing sales so I had a lot of sites already. It’s this background that I felt really helped me so if you have a good grounding in this field it helps.
I use a professional email address - the same as the website I submit in the application. In one of my applications I used my site clearskinpores.com and generated an email from that. It’s been going for about a year which helps because the older the domain the better when the CPA network look at the site.
Have a niche that you have a personal interest in. Mine was health related products. This happened purely by accident - as soon as I tell the cpa network rep that I have very personal interest in health and weight loss, their ears prick up. Many of my sites are in this niche.
Know how u r going to get them traffic to their offers and tell them. I am usually asked what site I will use to push traffic to their offers so be prepared to say so and if it’s the site you used in your application then even better or if you have another. I list at length all the methods I use and that I am going to use - I was honest. Been able to talk at length about such methods shows you know what you are talking about. They will definitely want to know that you will be using Pay Per Click.
Ask them what their best performing offers are and they will normally tell you because it’s in their interest to get you to make money because thats how they make money too. I always ask and they tell me.
Once you are accepted, and hopefully you will be, contact your affiliate rep straight away with a professional email telling them what you are doing/intend to do and keep them informed about your progress on a regular basis.
Hope this helps
Do they always call to approve you?
Or can you get approved VIA email too?
